Chicago (part 1)

These are photos from beautiful Chicago. I haven't seen this many people in a city since I visited New York, and it was so nice to be visually aware of everything around me. I also met my little cousins, two 11 and 10 year old girls, for the first time. They were so lanky and giggly, and both looked like they came right out of a Miyazaki movie. I wish I lived close to them so that I could photograph them all the time. I miss it already; I miss having everything around me and having little girls tugging at me asking me questions and asking if we could just play Uno. This is only a few of the photos that I took; I'll upload more in the days to come.

The first half of 2012

I haven't been using my camera a whole lot this year. A lot of things got in the way, and I focused on school and my internship and getting a new job. Plus, my scanner broke, so even when I was taking photos, I couldn't scan my processed film. It started miraculously working the other night, and I finally saw the results. These photos range from January of 2012 up til the beginning of summer. They are all spontaneous and unplanned, mostly from trips I took with friends and family.

I'm really glad that I took these; it's so nice to remember the little things one sees everyday.  It's been more than two years since I purchased my AE-1, and I am still very much in love with it.

Sunrise by the end of summer

In the last weeks of July, my sister, brother, and I spontaneously went to see sunrise to say goodbye to summer. It ended up being a bad day to see the sunrise because of how overcast it was. The sun didn't show up until about 9 o'clock, but the way the little spot of light shimmered in the jade-colored waves was gorgeous.
